We are seeking a dynamic and organized Front Office Assistant to join our healthcare team! Duties
Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional patient service and phone etiquette
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and assist with billing processes using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and manage multi-line phone systems efficiently
Maintain and update patient records, ensuring proper filing of medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
Support front desk operations by managing office supplies, filing documents, and performing clerical tasks such as typing reports and data entry (including 10 key typing)
Collaborate with clinical staff for care plans coordination and ensure accurate CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding for billing purposes
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and Medicare guidelines while handling sensitive health information
Skills
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
Experience working with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel; familiarity with Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus for dental clinics
Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are highly desirable
Demonstrated clerical experience in a medical office setting; previous clinic or hospital experience preferred
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management
Knowledge of insurance verification processes, health information management standards, and office management best practices
