We are seeking a dynamic and friendly Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our healthcare facility. Duties
Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing outstanding customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out procedures
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or other EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems
Schedule appointments efficiently utilizing medical scheduling software and multi-line phone systems
Answer incoming calls promptly with professional phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately or take detailed messages
Manage patient intake forms, update medical records, and ensure accurate documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Assist with billing procedures including basic medical billing tasks, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and Medicare claims processing
Maintain organized filing of medical records and office documents; ensure confidentiality of health information management in accordance with HIPAA standards
Support administrative functions such as office management, filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and clerical support using Microsoft Office applications
Coordinate with clinical staff for care plans and documentation review to facilitate seamless patient flow
Manage front desk operations including handling inquiries related to insurance verification, appointment rescheduling, and patient follow-up
Skills
Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment .
Knowledge of EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable
Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing processes
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and health information management practices
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and electronic health record (EHR) systems
Ability to perform accurate typing at 10-key speed for data entry tasks
Exceptional organizational skills for managing medical records, appointment schedules, and administrative paperwork
Attention to detail in documentation review and insurance verification processes
Effective communication skills for liaising between patients, providers, insurance companies, and team members
