Duties
Greet patients, visitors, and staff warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures
Verify patient identities and appointments, ensuring accurate intake and registration processes
Collect and document basic health information, and insurance details using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Assist with patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and managing wait times efficiently
Support medical staff by preparing patient charts, updating records, and facilitating communication between departments
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations
Manage incoming calls promptly, directing inquiries to appropriate departments or personnel
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and processing paperwork related to patient care
Support clinical staff with basic procedures like taking vital signs or preparing patients for examinations when needed
Ensure the front desk area remains organized, clean, and welcoming at all times
Skills
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support principles
Experience working in hospital or outpatient clinic environments
Familiarity with EHR systems and ICD coding for accurate documentation and billing processes
Ability to perform intake assessments
Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient workflows across various specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, medical-surgical units, or hospital medicine
Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail under pressure
Basic understanding of medication administration procedures when supporting clinical staff
