Looking to fill a float position consisting of any of the three shifts, 7am -3pm, 3pm - 11pm or 11pm - 7am. Position: Front Desk Agent (Guest Service Representative) Reports To: General Manager Position Summary: Works at the front desk of the hotel greeting and checking in arriving guests and checking out departing guests. Providing excellent customer service to current and future guests and making reservations for incoming phone calls or walk-ins. Specific Duties: \xc2\xb7 Registers guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible. \xc2\xb7 Assists in pre-registration and blocking of rooms for reservations \xc2\xb7 Thoroughly understands and adheres to proper credit, check cashing, and cash handling policies and procedures. \xc2\xb7 Understands room status and room status tracking \xc2\xb7 Knows room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates. \xc2\xb7 Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel. \xc2\xb7 Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests, and part-day rooms. \xc2\xb7 Possesses a working knowledge of the reservations department. Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary. Knows cancellation procedures. \xc2\xb7 Files room key cards. \xc2\xb7 Knows how to use front office equipment. \xc2\xb7 Processes guest check-outs. \xc2\xb7 Follows procedures for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes used by guests. \xc2\xb7 Uses proper telephone etiquette. \xc2\xb7 Uses proper mail, package, and message handling procedures. \xc2\xb7 Reads and initials the pass-on log and bulletin board daily. Is aware of daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel. \xc2\xb7 Attends department meetings. \xc2\xb7 Coordinates guest room maintenance work with the engineering and maintenance division. \xc2\xb7 Reports any unusual occurrences or request to the manager of assistant manager. \xc2\xb7 Knows all safety and emergency procedures. Is aware of accident prevention policies. \xc2\xb7 Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area. \xc2\xb7 Understands that business demands sometimes make it necessary to schedule employees from their accustomed shift to other shifts \xc2\xb7 Reports to work as scheduled and well groomed in appropriate uniform including name badge. Education: \xc2\xb7 High School Graduate or equivalent. Experience and Skills: \xc2\xb7 Highly energetic, go-getter, motivated individual \xc2\xb7 Willing to take initiative and work with little direction \xc2\xb7 Previous hospitality industry experience preferred but not required \xc2\xb7 Excellent communication skills with strong customer focus essential \xc2\xb7 Strong problem-solving skills \xc2\xb7 Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment \xc2\xb7 Ability to shift and manage multiple priorities \xc2\xb7 Adaptable to change \xc2\xb7 High level of flexibility Physical Demands: \xc2\xb7 Ability to lift 20-40 pounds \xc2\xb7 Standing for 4-8 hours at a time Job Type: Part-time Pay: $13.00 per hour Benefits:
