We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Freight Broker to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation solutions, managing carrier relationships, and facilitating seamless freight movement within the supply chain. This role requires strong communication skills, expertise in transportation management systems, and a solid understanding of logistics and sales processes. The Freight Broker will play a vital role in connecting shippers with carriers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations such as FDA standards. Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage freight shipments across various modes of transportation, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, shippers, and clients through effective account management and customer relationship management (CRM).
Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms with carriers and clients to optimize logistics solutions.
Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI, AS400, and other logistics tools for data entry, dispatching, lead generation, and tracking shipments.
Conduct inside sales activities including prospecting new clients via B2B sales channels and expanding existing accounts.
Manage transportation planning, dispatching, pricing strategies, and logistics sales efforts to meet client needs.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as FDA regulations when handling freight shipments.
Collaborate with 3PL providers and NVOCCs to develop comprehensive supply chain solutions.
Monitor market trends to identify new business opportunities within the supply chain sector.
Maintain accurate documentation of freight contracts, pricing agreements, and shipment records.
Qualifications
Proven experience in supply chain management, transportation management, or logistics sales.
Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI, AS400, and related technology platforms.
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to develop mutually beneficial agreements.
Familiarity with 3PL services, NVOCC operations, freight forwarding, and logistics planning.
Experience in B2B sales, inside sales, or logistics sales roles preferred.
Understanding of FDA regulations related to freight handling when applicable.
Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for effective customer relationship management and negotiations.
