This role is responsible for generating new business through proactive outreach, developing strong relationships with shippers and carriers, and expanding revenue and profitability within existing accounts. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment and have a passion for the transportation and logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities:
New Business Development
Prospect and secure new customers through cold calling, networking, and industry outreach.
Identify and qualify potential clients that align with the company's service offerings and capacity.
Conduct effective sales presentations to decision-makers and negotiate pricing and service terms.
Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals.
Account Management & Organic Growth
Strengthen relationships with existing customers to increase wallet share and long-term retention.
Identify opportunities for organic growth through expanded service offerings, lanes, and modes.
Collaborate with operations and carrier sales teams to ensure superior customer service and on-time delivery.
Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve issues promptly to maintain account health.
Performance & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and forecasts in CRM software.
Track performance metrics related to sales activity, revenue growth, and profit margins.
Stay informed on industry trends, market rates, and competitor activity to support strategic sales efforts.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in transportation brokerage, logistics, freight sales, or related B2B sales.
Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales and revenue targets.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
