Freight Agent

Alaska Air Transit is hiring for our part-time Freight Agent position.
We are a community-oriented small business based in Merrill Field, Anchorage and we are looking for a hard-working team player to be a key member of our organization.
This position requires a strong focus on customer service and communication.
Experience with computers, including word processing and email, is also essential for this role.

Position Responsibilities

Receive and organize all freight delivered to our facility. Manage freight sent on each flight. Coordinate with team members to ensure on-time flight departures. Communicate customer freight related requests/requirements to team members. Operate forklift safely around facility and aircraft. Assist customers with Freight/Cargo inquiries. Assist Customer Service Team with passenger Check-In process. Learn and use our digital reservation software. Assist customers in boxing and delivering freight.

Position Environment

Immersion in the culture of Alaska aviation. Work with experienced pilots, as well as a stellar team of flight operations, maintenance, and ramp staff, many of whom are aspiring pilots. Learn more about rural Alaska, its communities, and the many companies that conduct business in remote locations. Fast Paced work tempo.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
