Title: Free People Movement Associate Copywriter
Objective: The FP Movement Associate Copywriter is responsible for creating persuasive, brand-appropriate copy in support of Movement and wellness-based products via FP Movement\xe2\x80\x99s digital properties. In addition, this role is tasked with writing compelling and strategic SEO-driven copy and ad hoc creative copy projects. Qualified applicants should have a strong command of the English language, a deep knowledge of activewear fashion and terminology, and an inherent understanding of the FP Movement brand.
Responsibilities: PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE/DESIGN

  • Partner with Design/Production + Buying on Product Knowledge - effectively streamline information across teams to ensure most relevant, concise information makes its way to the customer via site and all outbound channels. Work closely with Design and Legal to ensure both claims and copyrights are vetted.
  • Track impact of return rates as per newly integrated copy refinements (product highlights in PDP copy and greater attention paid to technical aspects of collection).
IMPLEMENTATION OF ALL SITE INITIATIVES + NEW/KNOWN BEST PRACTICES
  • Product Highlights Initiative - implement strategy/rollout of this new site functionality beginning with performance and outerwear businesses, working closely with Design on most relevant specs, Graphic Design for relevant iconography, and Web Production team for implementation.
  • Lead Fabric Naming/Fabric Site Experience Initiative - work closely with Merch, Buying, Design, Analytics/SEO, and Legal on timeline, ideation and rollout.
  • Seasonal/Technical Landing Pages + Landing Page Updates IE- SKI + Outerwear

  • Partner with analytics team to maintain and create SEO blocks across site.

CREATIVE COPY- ALL OUTBOUND + CUSTOMER-FACING
  • Partner with Merch to support Email Marketing. (4 x week, and counting)
  • Strategize and test email subject lines.
  • Partner with Opps team to create SMS/App PUSH copy.
  • Partner with Free People Copy and Merch teams to generate all site copy - homepage, in-line content, toppers, crawlable text across categories.
  • Generate high-level brand campaign creative copy, from ideation of handles/creative hooks to final copy \xe2\x80\x9cpackage.\xe2\x80\x9d

EDITORIAL STRATEGY
  • Partner closely with Merch and Free People Copy teams on concept, creation and rollout of MVMT-brand-specific editorial strategy inclusive of Movement/performance as well as wellness.
  • Generate/write unique editorial content. Work with Editorial Director to leverage freelance and/or vendor support.
  • Partner closely with Merch on site experience and best practices for editorial \xe2\x80\x93 via the editorial \xe2\x80\x9chub\xe2\x80\x9d as well as through in-line, PDP or top nav placements.
  • Liasion with marketing on quarterly co-op pieces (where a single piece is run across multiple outlets, i.e. Refinery29).

WHOLESALE
  • Create copy for all signage, take-away decks/line sheets for trade shows
  • Draft creative copy for monthly + quarterly creative line sheets

STORE + CATALOG PRINT INITIATIVES
  • Create technical copy for seasonal + monthly store signage drops for both Movement and wellness
  • Craft, proofread all technical/creative Movement catalog copy

Qualifications:
  • Fluent in activewear realm \xe2\x80\x93 adept at speaking to technical/performance fabrications
  • Strong command of English language, grammar, and spelling
  • Ability to write quickly to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional success
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work independently to meet deadlines

Reports to: Associate Editorial Director Education: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Fashion, Merchandising, English, Literary Studies, Marketing, or related field. Location: Philadelphia, PA (HYBRID)
