We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized FQHC Billing Specialist and Substitute Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This dual-role position involves managing billing processes for our federally qualified health center (FQHC) and providing front desk support as a substitute receptionist when needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong office management skills, and excellent communication abilities. This role offers an engaging environment where administrative excellence directly contributes to quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.
Regular Duties
Manage and process billing using Electronic Health Record and other relevant software, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of claims submission
Handle patient account inquiries, payments, and follow-up on unpaid bills
Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, insurance claims, and payments.
As needed Duties
Fills in as the front desk receptionist, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient check-in/check-out procedures
Operate multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing excellent customer service and support
Assist with office management tasks including data entry, filing, proofreading documents, and maintaining organized records
Maintain phone etiquette standards while handling incoming calls and directing inquiries appropriately
Will need to travel to our different locations to fill in when front office staff is out
Experience
Prior experience in office management or administrative roles within healthcare settings preferred
Knowledge of medical billing processes, especially FQHC billing procedures
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette
Clerical experience including filing, proofreading, calendar management, and office support functions preferred
Previous experience as a medical receptionist or dental receptionist is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific duties
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 - 40.0 per week
