Job Description

We are a military FPV drone manufacturer developing high-performance, mission-focused FPV platforms. We're hiring an

FPV Drone Test Pilot

to fly, evaluate, and help improve our aircraft and payload systems through structured test programs. This is a hands-on role for an elite FPV pilot who thrives in fast iteration cycles, tight feedback loops, and disciplined test methodology.

Key Responsibilities

Execute

planned test flights

for FPV drones (performance, handling, reliability, payload integration, range, endurance, comms/link quality). Validate changes to airframes, propulsion, radio/video links, antennas, and firmware tuning; document results and recommendations. Conduct

pre-flight and post-flight inspections

, basic troubleshooting, and field-level repairs/swaps (props, motors, ESCs, antennas, wiring). Work closely with engineering teams to define test plans, success criteria, and pass/fail metrics. Collect and analyze flight logs (e.g., Blackbox, ELRS link stats, DVR footage) and produce clear test reports. Support safety and compliance practices: risk assessments, checklists, and controlled test ranges. Maintain and organize test inventory: batteries, spares, ground equipment, tools, and documentation.
Mandatory Requirements

Proven sport FPV racing/freestyle experience

(must be demonstrable via competition results, flight reels, or documented flight history). Strong piloting skill in

manual (Acro) mode

, including high-speed proximity flying and precision control under pressure. Experience tuning and operating FPV platforms: Betaflight/INAV/ArduPilot familiarity, PID tuning basics, RF/video setup, antenna selection. Ability to write structured, technical notes and follow test procedures with discipline. Comfortable working on-site and in outdoor test environments.
Preferred Qualifications

Military background

(service or defense-sector operational experience). Experience with ruggedized or long-range FPV systems (ELRS/Crossfire-class links, diversity receivers, high-power video systems). Basic electronics/mechanical skills: soldering, harness repair, field diagnostics with multimeter. Familiarity with test engineering practices (test cards, DOE thinking, repeatability, failure tracking). Ability to train other pilots/operators and contribute to SOPs.
Pay: From $36,000.00 per year
