Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Foundry Manager to lead our metal casting operations with energy and precision. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of the foundry process, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. As the Foundry Manager, you will coordinate a skilled team, manage complex machinery, and uphold the highest standards of manufacturing excellence. Duties

Lead and supervise all foundry operations, including production planning, maintenance, melting, casting, finishing, and quality inspection processes. Ensure adherence to safety protocols by conducting regular safety audits and promoting a safety-first culture among team members. Plan and lead production to achieve customer deadlines. Manage raw materials inventory and supplies, ordering in time to ensure no delays in production. Participate in P&L reviews and develop plans for meeting/exceeding budget. Manage tooling, fabrication tools, hand tools, calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and other mechanical equipment to maintain optimal performance. Participate in quote reviews, including blueprint reading, pattern layouts, and interpret technical drawings to ensure precise manufacturing and assembly of metal components. Implement quality control procedures using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to guarantee product specifications are met or exceeded. Facilitate training on machining techniques, blueprint reading, welding procedures, sheet metal fabrication, and the use of hand tools for team members. Maintain detailed records of production activities, inspection reports, maintenance schedules, and safety logs to ensure compliance with industry standards. Drive process improvements by analyzing manufacturing workflows and implementing innovative solutions for increased efficiency and quality.

Experience

Proven experience managing a foundry or metal manufacturing facility with comprehensive knowledge of casting processes and machinery operation. Ability to translate a strategic plan to actionable tasks, communicated effectively to the team to ensure the best result. Skilled in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings with an understanding of GD&T principles. Familiarity with quality inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments and conducting inspections for sheet metal components. Ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards; excellent communication skills are essential. Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining and fabrication tasks. Knowledge of manufacturing best practices combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
