Summary

As a Foster Parent at WIN Family Services, you will play a vital role in nurturing and supporting children in need. This position is essential to our mission of strengthening families and communities through compassionate care and guidance. We are receiving referrals for younger siblings with possible adoption path.

Responsibilities

Provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children in foster care. Develop individualized care plans that address the emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs of each child. Collaborate with social workers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for children. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to child welfare and foster care practices. Maintain open communication with biological families when appropriate to support reunification efforts. Document daily activities, behaviors, and progress of children in your care as required by agency policies. Advocate for the needs of children within the community and educational settings.

Qualifications

Must be at least 25 years old and a Maryland resident Own or rent, with at least one extra bedroom. Ability to provide compassionate care for children with diverse backgrounds and needs. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with families and professionals. Experience with childcare or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus. Willingness to accept training in child protective services as needed.

Generous Stipend:

We offer our certified foster parents a monthly stipend ranging from $1500 - $1800.

Counseling Support:

Our staff works to support and enlighten youth on who they are, what their strengths and needs are, and help bring resolve to psychiatric symptoms.

Paid Vacation and respite: Our parents receive payment even when they are on vacation or respite. WIN offers all parents two (2) weeks paid vacation/respite and pays the respite parent as well.

Committed Parent Support:

Each parent has a team composed of licensed social workers and counselors to help parents support the youth in their home and community.

Referral Bonus

: WIN offers bonuses for all parents referred to our agency.
