Job Description

Operate power-driven industrial trucks. Keep presses supplied with billets and racks. Empty scrap hoppers, empty saw chips from saws, load up the aging oven. Keep racks loaded for the aging process. Transport the material to various departments, and unload and reload the aging oven for the heat treatment process.


Responsibilities:




Receive verbal directions from others regarding material needs for various departments. As required, perform related material handling functions in the assigned work area and help others when needed. Keep the Kan Ban area clean and organized. Keep the outside rack Storage Clean and Organized. Fill in for other jobs with equal or less difficulty when needed, but not while operating the forklift. Maintain the forklift in a clean and properly serviced condition to ensure continued operation. Notify others of defective operating conditions and make them available for repairs.

Minimum Qualifications:




Must be able to read shop paperwork Must be able to lift, carry, or push work-in-process, which could weigh between 50 and 100 pounds. Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing) are necessary to perform the job function.s Basic writing skills are necessary for completing daily production records. Basic verbal communication skills are required to convey and interpret explanations of problems and to receive and understand work assignments. Good motor skills (hand/eye coordination) are necessary for the efficient operation of this job. Good vision is required for driving the forklift and for inspecting materials for flaws. Forklift certified.

Schedule: 1st Shift Hours: 4:00 am-4:00 pm




Equipment




Power driving industrial trucks (rider type), including Combi-Lift hand tools, hearing protection, eye protection, and safety shoes

Job Location and Work Environment:




Noise levels require the use of earplugs. Due to noise levels, verbal communication may be difficult at times. The area is not air-conditioned. The floor is concrete with no floor covering.
