To provide assessments for suspected child physical and sexual abuse cases based on a multidisciplinary service model combining clinical and forensic components into a child-friendly interview process. The candidate must reside in or near the Kingstree/ Sumter area.
General Responsibilities:
1. To provide pre-interview assessments with relevant family members and/or guardians.
2. To provide pre-interview assessments with relevant Department of Social Services and /or Law Enforcement Personnel.
3. To perform and document (on video or audio tape) interviews of suspected child and adolescent victims of abuse.
4. To provide written interview summaries with comprehensive recommendations and conclusions and to complete these promptly as to be admissible in a court of law.
5. To be available to assist with case preparation and to provide expert testimony in criminal and/or family courts.
6. To attend weekly case staffing with Durant Children's Center Staff.
7. To attend multidisciplinary case staffing as scheduled.

Other Responsibilities/ Center Duties
1. Attend weekly Durant Children's Center staff meetings.
2. Submit monthly reports.
3. Assist with community education and training requests and submit appropriate documentation.
4. Assist with volunteer/intern supervision.
5. Attend Pee Dee Coalition staff meetings as requested by the DCC Program Director.
6. To participate in continuing education, training, and seminars to enhance the skills necessary for this job.
7. To participate in grant writing and reporting as requested.
8. Other assignments as deemed appropriate by the DCC Program Director.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Good Communication Skills (verbal and written).
2. Comprehensive knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse, including the psychosocial, physiological, and socio-cultural aspects.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of child development.
4. Ability to effectively relate to children and adolescents.
5. Knowledge of and ability to work with area law enforcement, solicitors' offices, and Department of social services personnel in the 3rd, 4th, and 12th judicial circuits or others as requested.
6. Knowledge of community resources.
Qualification Requirements:
1. Must hold a
master's degree in a mental health field
and be
licensed
(LMSW, LISW, LMFT, or LPC).
2. Three years of experience interviewing child victims of suspected abuse and/or experience in child protective services, law enforcement investigations, case preparation, and court testimony.
