Facility: ROBERT A. DEYTON DETENTION CENTER Pay: $18.13 hr. Bonus (if applicable): H&W: $4.23 hr. This position is eligible to receive a Health & Welfare Benefit Rate per hour on all hours paid up to 40 hours per week and not to exceed 2,080 hours per year. In your role as a Food Service Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining custody, care, and control of inmates assigned to Food Service activities while enforcing and following facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. • Direct, supervise, and monitor detainees assigned to Food Services in terms of food preparation, cleanup, and sanitation.
• Monitor inmate or detainee movements, conduct counts, and respond to emergencies.
• Perform shakedowns for contraband materials and confiscate prohibited items as per policies and procedures.
• Keep daily logs on inmates (including disciplinary reports).
• Provide prompt and appropriate assistance to those who have been injured, ill, or have suffered trauma.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to keep your facility clean.

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• Successful completion of training courses as required by GEO and facility training standards, including ACA required training.
• Demonstrated experience in food service activities, with commercial or institutional meal preparation preferred.
• College coursework and advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services or related field preferred. Training in cultural diversity or sensitivity preferred.
• Possession of applicable state requisites for employment.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Ability to handle physical and mental stress associated with working extended hours.
• Must be able to regularly report to work without being late.
• Ability to be physically alert on any shift that is assigned.
• Ability to work up to sixteen (16) hours within a rolling 24 hour period.
• Work experience in a correctional setting preferred.
• May be required to possess valid state driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
• Must be mature, flexible, able to command the respect and confidence of inmates or detainees and staff and possess a high tolerance to mental stress.
