Duties

Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning fresh produce and other food items according to established recipes and standards Assist in menu planning by organizing ingredients needed for daily meal service and special catering events Cook and assemble meals following safety guidelines, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation practices are maintained at all times Serve food efficiently to residents, guests, or customers while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold food safety standards Support catering functions by preparing large quantities of food for events and ensuring timely delivery Follow all food industry regulations related to hygiene, safety, and quality control Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely meal service

Experience

Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable Hands-on experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments demonstrates strong culinary skills Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation techniques, and food safety protocols is essential Familiarity with food handling procedures, knife skills, and kitchen equipment operation enhances your effectiveness in this role Experience working in the food industry or catering settings provides valuable insight into high-volume meal production Strong understanding of serving protocols and food presentation contributes to excellent customer satisfaction Previous roles involving kitchen experience or restaurant work showcase your ability to thrive in fast-paced culinary environments
