Job Description

In an environment of continuous quality improvement, theFood & Nutrition Services Clerk is responsible for receiving stock against invoices to assure accuracy. Assists with inventory and ordering supplies. Assists with maintaining a sanitary and hazard free working environment for other employees. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.

Job Functions:

Removes items shipped in corrugated cardboard boxes and discards boxes before reaching standard department storage locations. Orders food products for the cafeteria, patient line, floor stock items, and other items as needed. Orders Soda products through approved vendors to ensure needs of the facility are met. Checks in all deliveries upon arrival. Verifies any shortages of products to Chef Manager Assist Chef with Monthly Inventories. Receives all food and non-food items for department. Stores and rotates. Assists when needed in the kitchen. Organizes storeroom, refrigerators, freezers and dry storage area. Takes out trash and boxes. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

High school graduate or equivalent; Ability to read, write and do math as generally demonstrated by a high school diploma or GED.

Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:

Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions. Good manual dexterity. Ability to lift heavy objects 50-75 pounds.

Compensation Details:

Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
