Position Summary



The Food & Beverage Floor Lead plays a pivotal role in the daily operation of Valley Country Club's dining and event spaces. This position acts as an on-the-floor leader, ensuring seamless service execution, polished presentation, and a consistently elevated member and guest experience. The Floor Lead supports the Service Director in supervising all front-of-house operations, mentoring staff, managing service standards, and upholding the Club's reputation for exceptional hospitality.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



Daily Floor Operations



Lead daily service operations across all dining outlets, ensuring efficient flow of food and beverage service, accurate ticket times, and top-quality presentation. Act as the primary on-the-floor point of contact for staff during service, resolving issues and maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere. Oversee dining room readiness -- including table settings, cleanliness, and overall ambiance -- ensuring the Club's standards are consistently upheld. Monitor pacing and ticket timing for both kitchen and bar orders to ensure prompt, consistent delivery of service. Manage opening and closing duties, cash handling, and key-holder responsibilities as assigned.

Staff Leadership & Training



Assist the Service Director in recruiting, onboarding, and training new service team members. Conduct ongoing training sessions on service standards, menu knowledge, wine education, and member engagement. Coach team members in real time during service to encourage consistent quality and efficiency. Assist in scheduling and staffing adjustments based on business levels and event needs.

Member & Guest Experience



Ensure that all members and guests receive warm, professional, and personalized service. Build relationships with members to anticipate needs, address concerns promptly, and foster a welcoming environment. Maintain high visibility during peak service periods to support staff and enhance member satisfaction.

Beverage & Menu Programming



Collaborate with the Service Director and Bar Lead on beverage menu development, signature cocktails, and seasonal offerings. Assist in maintaining wine lists and cellar organization; participate in wine tastings, selections, and educational programming. Monitor beverage inventory, requisitions, and bar pars to ensure proper stock and minimize waste.

Events & Banquets



Work closely with the Service Director to facilitate setup and execution of Club events, member events, and private functions. Oversee floor teams during events to ensure service consistency, timing, and guest satisfaction. Assist with beverage cart operations and outdoor service, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency.

Communication & Administration



Communicate operational needs, staff issues, maintenance concerns, and member feedback to the Service Director in a timely and professional manner. Participate in weekly departmental meetings, offering insight and recommendations for improving service and efficiency. Support operational reporting, inventory counts, and closing paperwork as needed.

Qualifications



Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory or lead experience in food and beverage, preferably in a private club, resort, or upscale dining environment. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and coaching skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Working knowledge of POS systems (e.g., Jonas or similar) and basic administrative software (Excel, Outlook, etc.). Wine and beverage knowledge preferred; certification (WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, etc.) a plus. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by Club operations.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 55 per week
