The HDC oversees the planning and operation of the Pike Market Food Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Home Delivery Program. The home delivery program works in partnership with low-income residential buildings in the Pike Place Market and downtown Seattle to provide groceries for individuals who are homebound. This position coordinates various operational models with other agencies to efficiently and thoughtfully operate PMFB\xe2\x80\x99s delivery services. The HDC strives for continuous improvement of Home Delivery services, collecting feedback from clients and helping design the annual re-enrollment process. They will identify areas of opportunity and troubleshoot logistical and client issues that may be challenging. The Home Delivery Coordinator is the liaison between the Food Bank and partner buildings, agencies, and individual clients and potential clients. This role requires skillful, sensitive direct client interaction and complex operational task management in the warehouse and office. Essential job duties: \xe2\x97\x8f Participate in and support the daily operations of the Pike Market Food Bank, including all on-site client services and other activities as part of the staff team. \xe2\x97\x8f Coordinate all aspects of the Core Home Delivery Program including operational planning. \xe2\x97\x8f Oversee the training and supervision of volunteers to assist with home deliveries and other related tasks. \xe2\x97\x8f Maintain relevant databases and paperwork for home delivery partnerships, client information, and reporting. \xe2\x97\x8f Stay up to date on communications (i.e., email and voicemail) with grocery home delivery clients and partner contacts. \xe2\x97\x8f Act as liaison between the food bank and partner building staff. \xe2\x97\x8f Help develop and administer a clear, fair system for expanding enrollment. \xe2\x97\x8f With Food Bank Manager, develop partnerships to reach more residents in our community. \xe2\x97\x8f Train partnered building staff on the process of administering the needs assessment. \xe2\x97\x8f Screen and enroll new clients into the program. \xe2\x97\x8f Create and coordinate home delivery weekly menus with Warehouse manager. \xe2\x97\x8f Ability to understand and follow instructions as assigned. \xe2\x97\x8f And other duties, as directed. Work Environment This job operates in the food bank warehouse, housed with equipment such as an electric and manual pallet jack, cardboard baler, hand truck and other equipment. The employee is frequently exposed to cold, heat, noise and smells. In addition to working in the warehouse and distribution area (covered outdoor garage), the Home Delivery Coordinator also spends time walking outdoors on delivery routes and in an office (computer and phone work). Physical Requirements The employee works at a fast pace, changing tasks frequently. The position requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time and occasionally requires the employee to sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less repeatedly. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills. Required Skills/Abilities: \xe2\x97\x8f Detail oriented; able to record, maintain, and remember large amounts of specific information regarding logistics and changing client information. \xe2\x97\x8f Adept at using Microsoft Excel to maintain data spreadsheets and glean data for reports. \xe2\x97\x8f Desire to collaborate with staff in all programs of the food bank and to work with volunteers. \xe2\x97\x8f Calm and collected work style, even in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment. \xe2\x97\x8f Ability to follow complex tasks through to completion. \xe2\x97\x8f Ability to provide clear instructions and feedback to volunteers in a manner that supports both successful operations and positive volunteer experiences. \xe2\x97\x8f Available for occasional work on weekends and evenings, and to assist with special events. \xe2\x97\x8f Ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations, including individuals experiencing active mental health and addiction symptoms. \xe2\x97\x8f Ability to navigate difficult conversations and set boundaries and expectations effectively. \xe2\x97\x8f Critical thinker; able to identify opportunities for improved services and operations Education: A Bachelor\'s degree a plus. Desired skills / abilities: Experience training and working with volunteers. Experience in operations/logistics. Experience communicating with individuals of different backgrounds and life situations. Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
