Financial Management System (FMS) Coordinator



Overview:



An FMS Coordinator supports and administers an organization's financial systems--such as ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Workday, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Dynamics), budgeting tools, accounting software, and financial reporting systems. The role bridges

IT

, ensuring accurate financial data, system integrity, and smooth operations.

Core Responsibilities:





System Administration & Maintenance:

Manage user access, permissions, and security roles. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues. Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
Maintain master data (vendors, customers, GL accounts, cost centers, etc.)

Financial Data Management:

Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Reconcile data between systems (ERP, payroll, procurement, banking platforms). Support month-end and year-end financial close activities.
Oversee workflow approval chains for purchasing, invoicing, and payments.

Reporting & Analysis:

Create and maintain financial reports and dashboards. Support audit requests by providing system logs and financial data. Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, internal controls, and organizational policies.
Validate financial transactions and automated processes.

Support & Training:

Provide training and guidance to finance users. Document procedures, system workflows, and best practices. Act as a liaison between Finance, IT, and external system vendors.
Support help-desk tickets and resolve user issues.

Process Improvement:

Identify gaps and recommend automation solutions. Lead or support FMS-related projects (migrations, integrations, new modules). Implement internal control improvements.
Optimize financial processes (AP/AR, budgeting, purchasing, reporting).

Required Skills:



Technical Skills:

ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, PeopleSoft, MS Dynamics, or similar). Financial reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, Hyperion). SQL or query-writing (optional but beneficial).
Understanding of accounting principles and financial workflow.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability. Cross-functional communication. Project coordination. Documentation and training skills.
Attention to detail and data accuracy.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, IT, or related field. 2-5+ years of experience in financial systems, accounting support, or ERP administration. Experience with financial controls, audits, and compliance.
Exposure to system configuration or process automation is a plus.
