Proficiency in waterjet programming software like FlowMaster, or general CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks. .
Machine operation:
Experience operating and maintaining waterjet machines, with specific knowledge of the machine's pressure (e.g., 60,000 psi) and capabilities being a plus.
Math and analysis:
Strong math skills to calculate material usage and tolerances, and the ability to interpret job specifications.
Basic computer skills:
Necessary for data entry and controlling the machine.
Soft skills and other qualifications
Attention to detail:
Crucial for ensuring precision and quality in the final parts.
Problem-solving:
Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and adapt to different materials and project requirements.
Communication:
Must be able to communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and other departments.
Physical ability:
The role may require physical stamina, including the ability to lift materials (up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods, and stoop or bend frequently.
Other skills:
Experience with forklifts and basic fabrication or mechanical skills are often considered a plus.
Experience and education
Experience:
Previous experience as a waterjet operator or programmer is highly valued, with roles often requiring at least one year of experience, while some may require three or more. Experience in a manufacturing or machining environment is also common.
