Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary underlayments to ensure proper flooring installation. Measure spaces accurately using blueprints, schematics, and floor plans to determine material quantities and layout plans. Install various flooring types including tile laying, hardwood, laminate, vinyl planks, and carpet with attention to detail and craftsmanship. Use hand tools and power tools such as saws, drills, caulking guns, buffing machines, and concrete finishing tools to complete installations efficiently. Read blueprints and schematics to follow design specifications precisely during installation processes. Perform related tasks such as trim carpentry, fixture installation, cabinet setup, and water damage restoration when needed. Conduct floor care maintenance including buffing and sealing to prolong the lifespan of installed flooring. Assist with remodeling projects by applying construction painting techniques or installing new trim or cabinetry. Collaborate with team members on construction estimating and project planning to ensure timely completion within scope. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites. Support restoration efforts by repairing or replacing damaged flooring caused by water damage or general wear-and-tear.

Qualifications

Proven experience in flooring installation or related construction fields such as carpentry or remodeling. Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and use of hand tools and power tools. Familiarity with tile laying techniques, caulking procedures, fixture installation, concrete finishing, and floor care practices. Experience working on construction sites with an understanding of safety standards and site protocols. Ability to read technical drawings accurately and follow detailed instructions for precise installation outcomes. Knowledge of the restoration industry is a plus--especially water damage restoration--and maintenance person experience is beneficial. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to project changes or unforeseen challenges. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients alike.
