Floater Director of Nursing (DON)

Position Summary:



The Floater Director of Nursing (DON) will provide leadership and oversight of nursing operations at various skilled nursing facilities within our group. This individual will serve as interim DON as needed, ensuring continuity of care, regulatory compliance, and clinical excellence. The Floater DON will collaborate with administrators, clinical teams, and staff to maintain high standards of resident care and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:




Serve as the interim DON at assigned facilities across the NY region. Oversee nursing department operations, including staffing, scheduling, and clinical services. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and CMS regulations. Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to nursing teams. Monitor quality indicators, implement improvement initiatives, and ensure survey readiness. Partner with facility administrators and interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered care. Support transitions and stabilization during leadership vacancies or changes.

Floater Director of Nursing (DON)

Qualifications:




Current, unencumbered NY Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of DON or senior nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility. Strong knowledge of DOH regulations, CMS requirements, and survey process. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to travel to multiple facilities within the NY area as needed.
