POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations and performance of the Flint Hills RSVP program, an AmeriCorp Senior program, including volunteer recruitment, training and documentation, volunteer station recruitment, training and documentation and maintaining and enhancing positive public image and communication about RSVP and the North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging, Inc. Initial hiring for this position is contingent on eligibility determined by the results of the National Criminal History check. DESCRIPTION of Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, coordinate, train and maintain all documentation for RSVP volunteers.
  • Recruit and coordinate, train and maintain all documentation for RSVP volunteer stations.
  • Confer and Collaborate with Program Manager to ensure grant compliance.
  • Confer and Collaborate with Program Manager to document and reference budget expenditures.
  • Confer and Collaborate with Program Manager regarding grant/funding applications and information for updates.
  • Establish and ensure that both electronic and paper versions of records are complete and accurate; maintain current databases of volunteers and volunteer stations.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as assigned.
  • Act as a positive liaison with the community and media as requested or required;
  • Create and distribute a RSVP newsletter with guidance from Program Manager.
  • Attend State and National RSVP conferences, as requested by NC-FH AAA Supervisor and as budget allows.
  • Plan and host recognition and community events; assure recognition of North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging, Inc and other major community partners.
  • Keep Program Manager and Executive Director or designee fully informed on all aspects of program.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  • Effectively and timely organize and accurately record data in RSVP data base; maintain electronic and paper documents as required
  • Create publications, newsletter and distribute in community
  • Organize community events to reach RSVP goals and to promote the work of the NC-FH AAA in the community.
  • Proficiency use Windows, Microsoft Office Programs and Web based applications in day-to-day work.
  • Work as a team member in a team-oriented organization.
  • Work flexible hours as assigned; organize time to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Effectively and appropriately communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Use expertise and use well-reasoned discretion and good judgment in carrying out responsibilities.
  • Attend meetings as a representative of the NC-FH AAA as requested or required.
  • Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate successful work history and possess relevant education.
  • Have reliable transportation, valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and required insurance.
  • Ability to communicate with volunteers, family members, community members, co-workers
  • Ability to collaborate and problem solve with team members as part of a team environment.
  • Ability to initiate and sustain positive interpersonal relationships
  • Knowledge of human behavior, the aging process and disabilities.
  • Strong information management, time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to utilize expertise and use well-reasoned discretion in carrying out responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated successful work and/or volunteer history
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Possess Associates Degree or higher in relevant area of study and one year experience with volunteer program or aging services; Preferred: BA/ BS degree; demonstrated successful work experience with volunteers and non-profit organizations.
