Job Description

At Heart Aerospace, we are developing the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane capable of carrying 30 passengers, boasting an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 800 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.


Your mission





We are seeking a highly motivated Flight Systems Engineer to join our Mechanisms team. You will play a crucial role in the system-level design, bring up, debugging, and certification of distributed systems across the ES-30 aircraft. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and certify the first commercial electric-hybrid aircraft.


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:




Lead the design of essential systems by collaborating cross-functionally with flight science, software, electrical, mechanical, and safety engineers. Lead in-vehicle debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of system-level issues, across electrical, mechanical and software systems. Work across multiple teams to find and efficient solution. Support bring-up and maintenance of prototype aircraft, integration test benches, Hardware-in-the-Loop environments, and virtual simulation platforms. Create and execute system-level integration plans for a complete system or subsystem. Contribute to the software verification and validation strategy in accordance with DO-178C objectives.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:




3+ years of experience in system integration, ideally in the aerospace or automotive domain. Strong understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS), communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, LIN, ...), and system-level integration practices. Proficiency in Rust, C/C++, or Python for automation and testing. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and integration frameworks. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:




Experience with DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160G, DO-331, or other safety-critical standards. Passion for aircraft and electrification of the aviation industry

Education




Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.

Base Pay Range:


$124,000
