Position Overview
We're seeking experienced childcare providers to join our on-call team for:
Backup childcare
- Last-minute care when regular childcare falls through
Event childcare
- Weddings, corporate functions, conferences
Emergency coverage
- Sick day coverage, school closures, unexpected needs
This role is perfect for:
College students, parents with flexible schedules, retired teachers, experienced nannies seeking supplemental income, or anyone who loves working with children but wants schedule control.

Responsibilities
Core Duties:
Provide attentive, age-appropriate care for children (infants through school-age)
Ensure child safety at all times
Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities
Follow parents' instructions regarding routines, meals, allergies, and special needs
Maintain professional communication with families and agency
Document any incidents or concerns
Arrive on time and prepared for all accepted shifts
Event-Specific:
Set up and maintain safe play areas at event venues
Supervise multiple children simultaneously
Coordinate age-appropriate group activities
Communicate professionally with event coordinators and parents
Backup Care-Specific:
Adapt quickly to different home environments
Follow established family routines
Handle urgent/last-minute situations calmly
Provide parents with brief verbal or written updates
Requirements
Essential:
? Minimum 2 years of childcare experience (professional nanny, daycare, teaching, or extensive babysitting)
? Age 18+ (21+ preferred)
? Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
? Clean driving record
? Ability to pass comprehensive background check (CORI, national criminal, sex offender registry)
? Availability for at least some evening/weekend shifts
? Comfortable accepting shifts with 24-48 hours notice (some same-day available)
? Physical ability to lift children and respond to emergencies
? Smartphone for communication and scheduling
Strongly Preferred:
Current CPR & First Aid certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days)
Early Childhood Education coursework or degree
Experience with multiple age groups (infants, toddlers, school-age)
Special needs experience
Experience in event/group childcare settings
Bilingual (Spanish highly valued)

We send shift offers via text/email when opportunities arise

Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay:
Entry level (2-3 years experience): $21/hour
Experienced (4-6 years): $23/hour
Advanced (7+ years or special certifications): $25/hour
W2 employment (taxes withheld automatically)
