JOB SUMMARY

The Fitter/Welder is responsible for assembling, fitting, and welding components to precise specifications with minimal supervision. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure that all projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company and ISO 9000 requirements.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspect and verify material type, size, and condition prior to use.

Locate and organize parts according to job numbers and AM numbers.

Interpret blueprints and work order routers to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication or assembly issues.

Fit-check prefabricated parts and assemblies for accuracy.

Prepare and set up components for welding.

Perform welding in multiple positions to meet job requirements.

Operate fabrication tools and equipment including drill press, ironworker, and hand tools.

Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts as needed.

Comply with ISO 9000 quality standards and company safety policies.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints.

Experience with intricate layout and precision fitting.

Strong welding skills in all positions.

Solid fabrication and problem-solving skills.

Competence in basic math for measurements and layouts.

Knowledge of jig and fixture making.

Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Employees work under typical office conditions, and the noise level is usually quiet to moderate. Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
