Job Overview

AMC is expanding and adding another bay to our fabrication shop.

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication and welding, with the ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling and fabricating metal structures and components according to specifications while adhering to safety standards and codes.

Responsibilities

Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine assembly requirements. Utilize various tools and equipment, including power tools, calipers, and cranes, to fit and assemble metal components. Perform welding tasks using Stick welding techniques and plasma cutting methods as required. Ensure all work complies with industry codes and standards for safety and quality. Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues during the fitting process. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools are properly stored after use.

Experience

Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar role within the fabrication or manufacturing industry. Proficiency in reading schematics and understanding codes standards related to metal fabrication. Familiarity with various welding techniques, particularly Stick welding, is highly desirable. Experience using power tools and equipment safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Additional

experience and job duties that will be a plus and increase pay.

Have experience and perform field measuring at job sites. Have AutoCAD experience. Be able to create cut list. Ordering steel subbing out fabrications to other shops.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
