Aquila's

Fitness Specialist

assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center.


The pay rate for this position is $46,500 or $22.36/hour. The work week is Monday-Friday and candidates should be able to work schedules from 6a.m.-2p.m. , 9a.m.-5 p.m. and 11a.m. -7p.m. on alternating days

Responsibilities include:


Supervise exercise areas Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations Aid members - spotting and equipment usage Explain all equipment Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures Adhere to client?s policies and procedures Attend staff meetings Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events Perform daily administrative duties

Qualifications:


B.S. in Exercise Physiology or in related health/fitness field,

and

National fitness certification accredited by NCCA (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM or NSCA) - can be obtained within 90 days of hire Active CPR certification 0-1 year experience in supervising adults during exercises Must be a U.S. Citizen due to this location being a federal agency that requires citizenship as part of its security clearance
