Health & Wellness:
We provide over 7,500 children and families with health and wellness programs annually with our Aquatics Programs, Gymnastics Programs, Courthouse and Supervised Visitation Programs, Services for People with Developmental Disabilities, Health Resources and more.

Job Summary
The YWCA is reigniting our Activity Center and expanding fitness and wellness offerings for adults and seniors. We're looking for certified, mission-driven group
fitness instructors
who know how to build strength, mobility, and community at the same time.
If you love coaching people through movement, believe fitness should be accessible at every age and ability, and want to help bring a historic community hub back to life -- this is your moment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead 30-60 minute strength, stretch, and functional movement classes for adults and seniors
Arrive 15 minutes early to set up and greet members; start and end class on time
Create and deliver inclusive, safe, evidence-based lesson plans aligned with member needs
Provide modifications and progressions for diverse abilities, mobility levels, and ages
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming studio, sanitize equipment, and reset space after class
Track attendance and contribute to class growth and retention benchmarks
Build relationships -- engage with members before/after class to support community connection
Support class promotion -- at least two engagement actions per month (e.g., member outreach, social media, tabling, referrals)
Participate in staff meetings, wellness events, and seasonal program launches
Essential Experience
High School Diploma required; some college preferred
Minimum 1 year
group instruction experience (fitness, Pilates, yoga, strength training, functional mobility, or similar)
Experience working with older adults and varying mobility abilities strongly preferred
Knowledge of safe exercise techniques, injury prevention, and progression
Commitment to trauma-aware and inclusive fitness practices
Strong communication and customer-engagement skills
Licensing and/or Certifications:
Group Fitness Certification
required or obtained within 90 days (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ISSA, ACSM, or equivalent)
CPR & First Aid
-- within 60 days of hire
Senior Fitness or Special Populations certification preferred (ACE Senior Fitness, NASM CES, etc.)
Background in corrective exercise, mobility, or functional training a plus

7:45 AM -- 12:00 PM,
with some evenings/weekends for special classes
Compensation:
$30-$40 (hourly rate)
