The Fiscal Support Specialist blends daily HR administration (records, benefits, hiring support, employee questions) with basic financial tasks (payroll assistance, expense reports, budget tracking), ensuring smooth HR operations and compliance while handling budgets, invoices, and financial record-keeping, acting as a key liaison for people and financial matters. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Fiscal Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth administrative and financial operations within the organization. Their duties include greeting and assisting individuals both in-person and over the phone with a positive attitude, while adhering to applicable HR laws and policies. Key responsibilities include monitoring and directing HR emails, creating requisitions for purchasing and travel, processing invoices, maintaining departmental budgets and transfers, and supporting new hires with onboarding tasks. Additionally, they handle incoming mail, serve as an Admin Circle board leader, manage the EMS Calendar and room bookings, order catering and office supplies, maintain accurate record-keeping for documentation and inventory, review tuition remission for approval and cross-train to provide backup support for the HR Operations team. Will also serve as Admin Support for the Director of Employee Engagement & Enrichment.

Required Education and/or Experience
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
One year of HR experience in a higher education setting or two years of human resources, basic accounting, billing, or related experience is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office, Canva, and Google Office, and Banner is a plus.
