Job Description

First Mate Duties: handling lines, docking, raising and lowering sail, tying sails, deck and below deck maintenance/cleaning. Must interact in a outgoing, friendly manner with passengers during sails. Must respond quickly to Captain's directions. Candidate must be able bodied, appropriate weight, athletic, have excellent hygiene and be personable. Responsible for checking passengers in and sometimes booking passengers through a booking app. Responsible for passenger safety. Mate is required to be on our drug consortium and be subject to random drug testing as required by the Coast Guard. First aid/cpr certification will be required.

Expected skills: must be able to tie off a dock line, sail lines, coil lines and pick up a mooring line and tie off. Basic knot tying skills a must: square knot, half hitch, reef knot, bowline, etc. Candidate will be required to pass a knot tying test at in person interview. At least 2 years of boating experience is recommended. General boat maintenance experience is a plus.

Candidate may also qualify Charter Boat captain for six passenger vessel: must have a six pack license and be a proficient sailor. Pay increases with experience.
