Fire Sprinkler Project Manager Continental Fire Sprinkler Company

Hanover, MD, United States

Job Description

Requisition ID: 140123

Job Level: Mid Level

Home District/Group: Continental Fire & Alarm District

Department: Project Engineering

Market: Building

Employment Type: Full Time

Position Overview

We are an innovative and collaborative team of designers that prepare submittal and field installation drawings, hydraulic calculations, and submittal data for fire protection systems based on the requirements set by NFPA code standards, the International Building Code, and the Local Authority or fire marshal. The position requires direct experience in general commercial construction and preferably in the fire sprinkler trade. This project management position will require minimal training provided by the company. The training will involve company policies and standards and some project management skills specific to the fire protection trade rather than the entry level directed classroom training.

The experienced level fire protection project manager will be expected to know how to read construction drawings, understand commercial construction operations and scheduling, and be a resource to the field installation personnel. The project manager will support the design constructability reviews, communicate the field operations and schedule to the general contractor, and support and troubleshoot installation issues and conflicts in the field.

This position, being a part of the construction industry, is extremely schedule and deadline driven. The key attributes needed for this position are Drive, Adaptability, and Effective Intelligence (learning a principle and applying it to unique situations). The most successful candidates will exhibit the qualities of humility, integrity, and team-ability.

We are looking for experienced resilient candidates that can perform the job duties on day one and still learn new things, have a curious mind and are not afraid to ask questions, be able to adapt to changes, meet deadlines, and be humble enough to learn from mistakes. We are looking for candidates who put the team first.
