About us: The FAF program began in 1982 as one of the first mentoring programs established by Governor Hunt in North Carolina. Since then, it has flourished and added multiple afterschool components to keep at-risk youth fully motivated and enriched through wrap-around support services. Our program helps modify youths\xe2\x80\x99 behavior positively at school, home, and in the community. The FAF program was named a \xe2\x80\x9cChampion for Children\xe2\x80\x9d in 2009 by the Child Advocacy Center. Serving over 200 at-risk and court-involved youth per year, with a 96% success rate at keeping kids out of trouble and successful in school, this program truly makes an impact. It costs tax payers over $125,000 per year to house 1 juvenile in confinement. It takes less than $1,500 to sponsor a youth for 1 full year of preventive services with FAF. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and oversee case management duties for youth enrolled in the FAF program.
  • Conduct assessments and placements
  • Conduct one on one services
  • Conduct home and school visitations If necessary
  • Assist in facilitating and overseeing group sessions with youth and parents.
  • Match youth up with One-on-One with mentors.
  • Plan, or assist in conducting in-service trainings for staff & volunteers.
  • Conduct and supervise intake appointments with youth and parent(s).
  • Assist with process help oversee of matching mentors and youth participants.
  • Prepare, type, copy, and file documents, including correspondence, newsletters, reports, program materials, funding applications, publicity, and others as needed by FAF/FUM staff.
  • Answer telephone calls and emails for F AF staff and transfer messages to staff members in timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage all of FAF outgoing communications (mail, email, voice, etc.)
  • Maintain program confidentiality.
  • Advocate for FAF/FUM programs with parents, youth, volunteers, funders and anyone connected with the organization.
  • Attend mandatory trainings or workshops as needed.
  • Supervise screen and assist with volunteer training as needed.
  • Supervise and assist with vehicle delivery of materials and transportation of youth.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in management or human services field or at least 2 year\'s of experience in field.
  • Honesty, dependability, and an exceptionally high level of accountability.
  • Strong leader with integrity, professionalism, and experience.
  • Ability to counsel other staff with fairness, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in typing, computer skills, and record keeping.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, especially Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Strong communication skills and telephone etiquette.
  • Strong .organizational skills.
  • Strong human relations skills.
  • Work independently and ability to work on a team.
  • Be able to accept responsibility and take initiative.
  • Ability to maintain professional and client confidentiality.
  • Have a valid NC Drivers License and a good driving record.
Job Type: Full-time Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
