Why does the job exist?



This position resides within the Administrative Services Division and will be responsible for monitoring the general ledger and processing journal entries for bureaus within the Behavioral Health Division (BHS). This position will be responsible for tracking grant expenditures and reimbursements to ensure a timely revenue collection. This position will be responsible for working with the Budget and Financial Manager to manage grants and accounting transactions for their bureaus. This position is also responsible for processing requisitions for their Bureaus, based on completed Internal Purchase Request Form's.

How does it get done?



Procurement 40%



P-card lead for the BHS. To include inputting into Bank of America works, and reconciliations, provide training for all BHS p-card users when needed, create and maintain a tracking system of all p-card related purchases for BHS, processing of financial transactions such as Internal Purchase Requests and requisitions for bureaus within BHS, review all Memorandum for Decision, white papers, prior year, and after the fact memos to ensure they are appropriate and effective before submitting to ASD - purchasing. This position will also prepare these items when needed, and will be the back up for telecommunications liaison for BHS, including reconciliations.



General Ledger 50%



General ledger accountant for BHS, include processing journal entries, operating transfers, deposits, audit entries, and end of year accruals, works closely with the Bureau Budget and Finance Coordinators, Procurement and GL Supervisor and Budget and Finance Manager to understand payroll allocation for all staff within BHS, provide various general ledger reconciliations to include payroll, DoIT bill spending, PO encumbrances, stale warrants, etc, inventory and fixed assets coordinator for BHS, and will works closely with the Budget and Financial Manager at year end on entering accounting transactions related to the audit etc.



Federal Grant Tracking 10%



Track and reconcile grant expenditures and revenues, including sending reimbursement requests and ensure reimbursement has been received.

Internal customers include Division program staff, ASD, Agency Leadership, and other units within the agency. External customers include DFA, LFC, Providers, and other external customers.

Minimum Qualification



Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or Business Administration and two (2) years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance, and/or budgeting. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements



Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions



Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
