Financial Planning Analyst - Finance Operations

The Financial Planning Analyst will be an asset to our finance organization supporting different operational client groups. The position will provide exposure in areas such as capital, occupancy, asset protection, budgets, and operations. This Financial Planning Analyst will contribute to the organization by driving continuous process improvement with respect to data mining, and reporting efficiencies. This role will also spearhead analysis across many aspects of the business to provide insights that influence key decisions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • As part of the Supply Chain Finance team, collaborate with Transportation, International Sourcing, and Corp FP&A by providing in depth data driven financial analysis of Ocean Freight.
  • Support the development and execution of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and analysis to improve JCPenney results.
  • Establish comprehensive financial and performance metric reporting that gives a clear picture to the business on current and near-term performance.
  • Ensure key daily, weekly, and monthly reports are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Address questions from leadership regarding report content as needed.
  • Utilize a proactive approach through the design of processes that ensures data accuracy/integrity and be able to effectively identify upstream data issues.
  • Complete adhoc/deep dive assignments as they occur and proactively seek opportunities to conduct analysis that will drive bottom line results for JCPenney.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
  • 0-2 years\' relevant experience
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Analytics is recommended
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with many personalities, timelines, priorities and expectations
  • Confidence to have direct conversations and performance discussions with business teams across all levels
  • Excel and PowerPoint are skills are a plus
  • Microsoft Access, Data Management, Data Analytics, SQL, Statistics experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently to manage the completion of assignments
  • Hyperion experience a plus
