Job Description

Our orthodontic practice with offices located in Newport News and Gloucester, VA is seeking a full-time financial coordinator. Swihart Orthodontics is an established practice committed to quality and to providing excellent patient care. The ideal candidate for the financial coordinator position must have at least 2 years of financial experience and have advanced knowledge of accounts receivable. Most importantly, the ideal candidate must possess a positive attitude and be a team player with willingness to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience in dentistry/orthodontics is preferred, but not required. Rate of pay will be determined based on experience. Our office hours are Tuesday through Friday. Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

Create, prepare, and work with the Orthodontist to create financial arrangement options that meet both patients' and practice's needs. Current knowledge of the Fair Credit Standards Actand its application to dental offices and the ability to ensure all personnel compliance to Act. Maintain and update third party financing credentials and training. Present and explain plans to patients before treatment(s) is performed. Ensure timely collection of payment from patients, including autopayments and assisting Insurance Coordinator with insurance collection as necessary. Maintain and review monthly accounts receivable reports with the Orthodontist. Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner. Must maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned schedule and time off policies. Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments. Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings. Other duties and tasks, as assigned periodically by the Orthodontist.
