In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), oversees activities related to the implementation and maintenance of the organization's general accounting operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Responsible for general ledger maintenance, general ledger journal entries, fixed assets, and reconciliations (cash, accounts receivable and accounts payable).
2. Maintain stewardship of organization's books, records, and assets.
3. Responsible for preparing monthly financial statements.
4. Development of pertinent and required monthly financial and statistical reports and provides relative information to the Board in conjunction with the leadership team.
5. Provide ongoing information, insight and guidance to the CEO and leadership team regarding the organization's financial systems.
6. Oversight of the Finance Assistant.
7. Monitor all fiscal activities including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, and procurement. Assure proper procedure, controls, and cost-effective measures.
8. Closely monitor and manage cash flow; assuring organization's financial obligations are met.
9. In conjunction with the CEO and senior leadership team, develop, implement, and monitor annual budget.
10. Work with consultants and auditors to complete all required annual reporting, including annual financial audit.
11. Ensure that all accounting practices are in compliance with regulatory agencies and follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
12. Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
13. Responsible for internal accounting policies and procedures.
14. Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop financial strategies that align with the organization's goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting required.
CPA preferred, but not required.
Three years' prior experience as a Financial Controller required.
Experience in healthcare, with FQHC experience preferred.
Excellent working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is a plus.
Excellent team-based communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer literacy / proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications such as accounting software.
Detail oriented with the ability to work with minimum / no supervision
