What We Need:
We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our team in Muscatine, Iowa. As a Financial Analyst with the Corporate Financial Services team, you will make a large impact by providing financial/accounting support to HNI's IT department. Additionally, one of the primary focuses of this position will include all aspects of payroll processing (including establishing and maintaining metrics to improve operational performance).
What You Will Do:

• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual budget process for IT and Payroll teams (including project accounting).
• Prepare, review and verify the accuracy of journal entries, accounting transactions and account reconciliations.
• Perform monthly variance analysis in financial position/budget
• Perform activities related to payroll

• Process payroll weekly/biweekly for our operating companies
• Ensure legal compliance of garnishment orders
• Reconcile payroll accounts weekly/monthly
• Address payroll tax related inquiries
• Engage with members across the brands to drive process improvements and recommend action or change
• Support audit compliance
• Perform other duties in support of business operations, as assigned

What You Have:

• Associate's degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an Accounting/Finance emphasis. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience / internships / related activities (tutor, business fraternity, etc) preferred.

What You Are Good At:

• Skilled in Microsoft Office and Excel applications
• Financial software experience in ADP Payroll, Kronos Timekeeping, and Oracle helpful but not required
• Strong verbal and written communication
