Under the supervision of the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and management of the financial aid download process, maintain and update Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) statuses, timely process the Return of Funds (R2T4), counsel students with their financial aid need, assist students in completing their FAFSA, and other duties assigned by the Director of Financial Aid and the Dean of Student Services.

Weekly ISIR downloads and processing of new ISIRS, push ISIRS, and corrections
Manage, calculate and update Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) statuses
Communication management (DOC) track letters, emails, etc.
Manage weekly withdrawal/no show reports
Calculate the return of funds in a timely matter, send R2T4 to the Business Office, send R2T4 letter to student
Verify student's financial aid applications as required by the College and U.S. Department of Education, including the collection of documents and transmittal of corrections.
Work with student and child care providers
Attend a week long training to set up system to process upcoming year's ISIRs.
Set-up system to update system to process upcoming ISIRs
Provide in-take counseling for Financial Aid students and assist students in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA
Provide and process SAP Appeal Request information
Assist in providing financial aid educational information through presentations to students, faculty, and staff
Assist in the development and implementation of office procedures, including but not limited to updating and maintenance of Financial Aid Office's Policies and Procedures Manual.
Attend workshops/conferences to remain knowledgeable of financial aid procedures and to upgrade computer skills.
Perform other duties and assist with other special projects as determined by the Director of Financial Aid and the Dean of Student Services.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required
Strong computer skills (Excel, word, keyboarding, etc.)
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and some weekends.
Must be able to travel overnight to attend workshops and conferences.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of experience in Financial Aid
Experience working in a higher education setting
Familiarity with financial aid roles
