Vice President of Finance

The Vice President of Finance is a strategic leadership role, serving as a trusted partner to the CFO while overseeing the daily financial operations of ACCESS. That includes providing leadership across purchasing, accounts payable, general and grants accounting, the 340B program, lab administration, and financial planning and analysis. The VP will collaborate on revenue cycle and managed care operations, while also contributing to long-term strategic financial plans, cost controls, and the development of the organizational budget. This is a prominent role that offers the opportunity to influence financial strategy, strengthen organizational sustainability, and advance ACCESS's mission of delivering exceptional care to the communities we serve.



Position Summary

Provide executive oversight for all finance department functions, including purchasing, accounts payable, general accounting, grants accounting, the 340B program, lab administration, planning, and analysis. Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the annual operating and capital budget process in partnership with senior leadership and department leaders, including development of organizational financial forecasts. Oversee the monthly financial close process, ensuring the accurate preparation and presentation of financial statements for leadership, stakeholders, and governing bodies. Direct cash management functions and develop projections on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure financial stability. Develop, implement, and maintain finance department policies, procedures, and internal controls that uphold data integrity, safeguard organizational assets, and ensure compliance with all State, Federal, and regulatory requirements. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all regulatory reporting obligations.

Partner with leadership on revenue cycle management and managed care operations to support ACCESS's financial performance.

Conduct financial and return-on-investment analyses for new business ventures and growth opportunities. Lead and develop a high-performing finance team by setting clear expectations, providing coaching and feedback, monitoring performance, and fostering professional growth opportunities. Perform additional duties as assigned in alignment with organizational priorities.

Requirements/Preferences



Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. MBA/MHA with a Finance and Accounting focus preferred. CPA designation preferred. Eight (8) years of progressive financial experience required; healthcare experience preferred. Hospital, medical group, or clinic background preferred; FQHC experience preferred. Experience in midsize to large medical group (75+ providers) preferred. Five (5) years of management experience leading teams of direct staff of five or more. Seven (7) years of managing financial operations required. Expertise in auditing, budgeting, capital reporting, cash management, cost accounting and reporting, decision support, financial planning & analysis, general ledger, and payroll. Strong acumen in ROI analysis, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, and financial decision-making. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); Microsoft Great Plains preferred. Hybrid opportunity - Chicago Administrative Office

The pay ranges provided represent the minimum to mid-range for positions. Actual compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including years of experience, educational background, market conditions, and available grant funding.
