The State of Utah DGO Division of Finance is looking for an experienced trainer with an instructional design background. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs that build skills, knowledge, and competencies for individuals and teams. You'll assess learning needs, create effective instructional materials, and ensure users are confident in performing transactions using the state's ERP system, CGI Advantage.

The provides fiscal leadership and quality financial systems, processes, and information to state agencies and Utah residents. Responsibilities
Principle Duties:
Instructional delivery - facilitate engaging training sessions, live workshops, seminars, and virtual courses to support employee development and knowledge retention.
Program Development - Design and develop comprehensive training programs, instructional materials, and measurable course objectives aligned with organizational goals.
Coaching - Provide individualized mentorship and performance coaching to employees, fostering skill growth and professional development.
Collaboration - Partner with managers and key stakeholders to assess learning needs and ensure training initiatives align with strategic business objectives.
Needs Assessment - Conduct thorough training needs analyses using surveys, interviews, and performance data to identify skill gaps and inform program design.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or a related field OR 2-3 years of experience in instructional design, training development, or corporate learning.
Proficiency in instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
Experience with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for course deployment and tracking.
Strong skills in curriculum development, needs assessment, and training evaluation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
Ability to work cross-functionally with subject matter experts, particularly in accounting-related areas.
