The Department of Revenue's Motor Vehicle Division is hiring a Finance Manager who can champion needed changes through the organization. Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate execution of all key tasks of the department by focusing on planning department activity, as well as establishing and monitoring performance goals while providing effective feedback on performance issues.
Additionally, the Finance Manager collaborates with other departments to ensure the successful implementation of divisional strategies and the achievement of divisional goals, while displaying the ability to analyze and propose corrections for deficiencies in accounting processes and surrounding internal controls.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Preparing complex financial reports and plans and ensuring fiscal controls are relevant and adhered to for safeguarding of revenue and equipment.
Serving as liaison to County Financial Officers
Preparing and presenting financial information or processes to a variety of audiences
Ensuring compliance of all assigned functions with laws, rules, and program regulations
Supervising the examination, monitoring and development of financial program data, financial records, and related policies, systems and processes
Entry Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting and three (3) years of professional accounting job-related experience, which includes one year in a supervisory role.
~ OR two years of experience at the lower-level Accountant Supervisor-FIP024 or position equivalent.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience in accounting
Proven analytical ability
Demonstrates excellent communication skills
Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience developing standard operating procedures
Experience with Governmental Accounting Standards
Experience with managing controls of checks/money orders, credit cards, and ACH customer payments
Preferred Qualifications
General understanding of Georgia Motor Vehicle regulations and policies
Experience in applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience working with DRIVES
Demonstrated ability to implement process changes
Position Status & Pay Grade: Unclassified - Pay Grade M
Hiring Range: up to $73,504.32

*This vacancy requires office hours of 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday. A telework schedule of 2 in-office days per week is contingent upon demonstrated proficiency after training and is subject to change based on DOR policies and ability to meet performance expectations.
