Position: Finance and HR Manager
Status: Full time, exempt
Reports to: Pastor
Description:
St. Peter Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking a qualified Business Manager to oversee the financial, human resources, and facilities operations of both the parish and school. This is a full-time leadership position reporting directly to the Pastor.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance for the parish and school.
  • Oversee payroll, employee benefits, and human resource functions.
  • Prepare the annual budget and generate periodic financial reports for the parish and the Diocese.
  • Maintain accurate records of parishioner contributions and related data.
  • Supervise maintenance staff and manage all building and grounds operations.
  • Coordinate facility repairs, renovations, and new construction projects.
  • Schedule and manage facility usage and rental agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with safe environment policies and volunteer requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Pastor and leadership team in developing and implementing long-term strategic plans.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and database systems.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience.
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with Catholic parish or school operations is preferred.
