Scoot was first established in Los Angeles, CA, in 2017. We have since grown to operate across eight states, and 12 regions of the USA. We partner with public, charter and private schools across the country, with the biggest demand being for quality substitute teachers.

When does the role start?

The role:
The Finance Analyst fuels our organization through the building and fostering of authentic relationships both internally and externally. By reliably delivering financial management and reporting on the organization\xe2\x80\x99s bottom line, whilst maintaining control over the debtor & creditor ledgers, this role is a driving pillar supporting our fundamental mission of creating exceptional experiences in education.

An eye for detail, care for all people, and belief that we can all be leaders in our field will be the drivers in the success of this role. Responsiveness & urgency, proactivity & problem solving with a can-do attitude are commonplace in describing these critical team members.

You should have:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
Expectations & Responsibilities
  • Lives our BE GREAT values and positively influences other team members to do the same
  • Assist Finance Lead with monthly P&L variance analysis and commentary
  • Assist with monthly revenue entries, various month-end accruals, re-class and allocation entries
  • Balance Sheet: Prepare journal entries required for EOM for review by Finance Lead
  • Weekly Net Fee Income (NFI)/Gross Profit reconciliation: Update margin performance based on sales and payroll data
  • Credit Control: Assist with tracking outstanding AR by refreshing the aged debtor summary with current data on a daily basis
  • Cash management: Populate cashflow statement with daily cash inflow/outflows
  • Daily upload of bank statements into accounting software
  • Reconcile and resolve financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
  • Assist with weekly accounts payable transaction reconciliations
  • Meet processing and reporting deadlines
  • Demonstrates an understanding of, and developing level of emotional intelligence (EQ): self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy & social skills.
