The Financial Analyst - Operations role is responsible for providing financial, analytical, reporting and decision support as a member of the JADAK FP&A team \xe2\x80\x93 with a primary focus on JADAK\xe2\x80\x99s manufacturing operations. This role reports directly to JADAK\xe2\x80\x99s Senior Manager, Finance and will be a critical business partner to the Production, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations Leadership groups. This Financial Analyst will be a creative and analytical problem solver, working collaboratively to understand processes and business challenges. The Analyst will develop, recommend, and implement initiatives to reduce cost, increase manufacturing efficiencies, and improve productivity.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Advance the understanding of financial and operational KPIs across the entire organization and provide evidence-based insights into financial levers to drive continuous improvement in profitability.
  • Facilitate data-driven decision making, oriented by a strong understanding of business processes.
  • Develop frameworks for financial operations standard work, creating repeatable processes for robust analysis of sourcing, production, and inventory management, metrics, and controls.
  • Lead the monthly and quarterly financial analysis process - including detailed variance analysis of the P&L, Balance Sheet, and KPIs \xe2\x80\x93 using insights to recommend corrective actions, drive better outcomes, and inform future forecasts.
  • Partner with Corporate Finance and Cost Accounting organizations to facilitate monthly/quarterly close processes, variance analysis, and supplemental data/KPI collection.
  • Utilize Novanta Growth System (NGS) tools for problem solving, develop and drive standard work and best practices.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning and forecasting processes, partnering with manufacturing and operating function leaders to develop resourcing plans and project future results.
  • Contribute to building a stronger FP&A function \xe2\x80\x93 Be a Great Team \xe2\x80\x93 bringing a continuous improvement mindset and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Assist and lead special projects as needed.
General tasks
  • Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.
Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies
  • BS degree in finance or accounting
  • 3+ years progressive experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Nose for data; the ability to connect processes with transactional data and synthesize data into robust analysis
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives, including problem identification & mitigation
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and/or cost accounting background is preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Hyperion/HFM, and Oracle strongly desired
  • Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced unstructured atmosphere with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional financial, analytical, and modeling skills desired
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently

Physical Requirements
  • Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
  • Ability to use vison to read computer screen and read printed materials.
