FILTRATION PLANT OPERATOR/
MAINTAINER
TWO (2) POSITIONS
SALARY RANGE:

$23.51/hr. ($48,894.65/yr.) $26.68/hr. ($55,494.90/yr.)

The City of Muskegon Heights is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Filtration Plant Operator/ Maintainer. This is a skilled technical position in the operation and maintenance of the Water Filtration Plant along with all storage and pumping equipment. Employees are responsible for the continuous and efficient delivery of safe potable water as it pertains to Federal and State water quality regulations. This position requires good working knowledge of operating requirements and safety precautions of all water filtration plant, storage and pumping equipment and the ability to meet emergency conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED Certificate, supplemented by secondary coursework or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver\'s license. Ability to pass a background check. Must possess, or have the ability to obtain a Michigan EGLE "F-4" level water operator\'s certification within one year of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Four-year degree in math ad science or an Associates Degree in Water/ Wastewater technology.
