Field Technician

In this role, you'll travel to client sites to provide hands-on IT support, troubleshoot complex issues, backfill Tier 2 onsite roles, and assist with various IT infrastructure and low-voltage cabling projects. From network issues to hardware swaps and everything in between--you'll be the go-to tech that keeps our clients running smoothly.

What You'll Do:

Provide on-site IT support at client locations--resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues. Serve as a Tier 2 backfill technician, supporting internal IT teams during absences or surges in demand. Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, phones, mobile devices, and network equipment. Execute installations, moves/adds/changes (MACs), and repair tickets on a variety of systems. Work on structured cabling, network installations, and other infrastructure projects. Communicate job status, issues, and updates with project managers and clients in real time. Complete detailed documentation, including service reports, checklists, and photos, submitted within 24 hours. Travel to job sites within a 100-mile radius (reliable transportation required). Follow all company safety protocols, policies, and industry best practices.

What We're Looking For:

Proven ability to deliver technical field service with professionalism and efficiency. Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking layers. Comfortable working solo or alongside client IT teams in fast-paced environments.
Solid understanding of:

Experience in pulling, testing and terminating low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, coax, fiber, etc.) is a big plus. Network and Security Hardware Retail Hardware Cable Testing & Certification Tone & Probe and Tag Networking concepts (IP, DHCP, DNS) Routers, switches, access points, firewalls IT peripherals (printers, VoIP phones, etc.) Ability to interpret and follow detailed technical instructions and documentation.

Requirements:

Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Ability to travel up to 100 miles round trip per job. Strong communication and customer service skills. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic test equipment. Punctual, dependable, and detail-oriented. Comfortable using tools like TeamViewer, Putty, or RMM platforms.

Desired Skills & Certifications (Not Required):

BICSI Technician or Installer I,and II Certification (Huge Plus) Experience with:
-Structured Cabling (Cat6, Fiber)
-Network Hardwarde Installation
-Data Center Maintenance
-POTS/VoIP systems
-IP or Analog Security camera systems (DVRs/NVRs)
-AV/Audio Systems and Wiring
-Network configuration and diagnostics
-Starlink Installation

Schedule:

-Typically Monday-Friday with two to four tickets per day in your territory. Some days will be slower, some not so much. It all balances into 35-50 hours per week. Start time usually between 8-9AM however can occassionally be as early as 5AM.

-Occasional extended (12 hours plus), overnight shifts and weekend work depending on client needs. Overtime paid at time and a half or state required rates.`

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
