Field Survey/Layout Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented survey/layout operator to join our VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) team. This role is responsible for the setup and operation of Trimble Robotic Total Stations/GNSS receivers, layout of mechanical/plumbing elements, and management of layout files. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction logistics, technology literacy, and construction field layout equipment.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations/GNSS equipment on construction sites. Collect and verify control points to ensure accurate layout. Import, manage, and maintain point file data from project drawings and models. Conduct layout of pipe systems, hangers, and floor penetrations. Communicate with Field Technology Manager, project managers and field teams. Travel to various job sites when needed.

Ideal Experience & Skills:

Experience in operating Robotic Total Stations or similar construction layout systems. Construction logistics and layout processes. Proficiency in using layout software and managing point data files. Comfortable working with computer files (.csv, .dwg, .tflx, .rvt) and construction technology tools. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and models. Experience working with Trimble FieldLink or similar layout software. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel when needed.
