Job Description

Power Motive is currently seeking Field Service Technician. Our technicians receive work direction from our Service Mangers. Work will be conducted in a safe, professional, and timely manner. We require our technicians to be able to test for proper operations, diagnose, identify, and repair machine problems. Perform component removal, disassembly, rebuild and installation in a timely and efficient manner. Our technicians must be able to safely operate all machines and work in a safe manner. We require our technicians to conduct themselves in the presence of customers in a manner that promotes a positive image of the company.

Essential Duties:

Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments. Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed. Continuously develop skills in disassembly, assembly and repair of components and machines. Perform all service tasks as assigned by the Service Manager or Service Writer/Shop Foreman. Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments. Prepare legible, accurate and detailed records of work as it is performed. Document unusual or excessive time requirements for unforeseen problems. Report any additional work recommended and/or required on equipment to the Service Manager for notification to customer or sales department. Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion. Maintain and care for all shop tools, machines and equipment, company assigned vehicle and report any additional special tools needed to Service Manager. Accountable for completing/performing all work as stated. Always conduct self to present a professional image of the dealership. Promote dealership growth thru suggestive selling of parts and service. Accountability of all time and materials used in job assigned. Proactively works with other employees and departments to give the customer a positive experience in ways that promote respect and teamwork.

Qualifications:

3-5 years working knowledge of heavy earthmoving equipment. Maintain proper driving credentials as per or employee handbook. Maintain DOT physicals in accordance with NMDOT regulations. Ability to read and understand all procedure policies and manuals. Ability to write legibly, type using laptop computer to complete daily work orders and documents. Ability to speak effectively. Ability to work flexible hours in accordance with the needs of our customers. * Have a proper set of tools for a field technician
